The opportunity to design for Joe & Mary’s sunny September wedding was a special honor. We had the privilege of watching their love grow and shine every time they stepped into our shop as walk-in customers. Every Valentine’s Day, birthday, and special occasion was marked with one of our bouquets as thoughtful gifts to Mary or their loved ones. We naturally developed a friendship with them, and were beyond excited when they approached us to be their wedding florist! We designed a grounded floral meadow, aisle arrangements, and their personal items for ceremony. For reception, our team hung long-stem eucalyptus along the string lights at Lacuna Lofts, glittering disco balls above the dance floor, and arranged loose greenery on each guest table. Along with our repurposed floral from the ceremony, Lacuna Lofts’ La Galleria was transformed into a respite from the world outside, filled with lush greenery and shades of purple, mauve, and blush, with the venues view of the city shining as a backdrop. Their personal touches — like a magic show by AJ Sacco, and an homage to Mary’s polish heritage with a performance of the Polonez and Mazur dance — reflected their fun-loving nature and the qualities that make them, and their love, unique.
We have since repurposed a portion of their hanging greenery as a dried installation on the walls of our floral studio. We will always be grateful for the experience we had working with them and their amazing team of vendors!
